Corleone Film Festival

English Version

Promoted by the Italia Event’s Association and now in its debut edition, the Corleone Film Festival – Cinema, Art, and Culture for the Reclamation of Local Identity is a multidisciplinary showcase of visual arts and regenerative tourism. The event brings to life Corleone, a historic city in the Sicilian hinterland and the keeper of an immense cultural heritage within the Province of Palermo.

The Festival was created to strengthen the synergy between cinema, legality, the arts, and experiential tourism. By highlighting the community’s historical, scenic, and human resources, the event aims to serve as a genuine driving force for economic development and social reclamation across the entire region.

The defining feature of the Corleone Film Festival lies in its profound commitment to cultural reclamation. Rather than opposing the cinema that for years partially distorted its image, the festival leverages film itself as a tool to forge a new, complex, and authentic narrative.

For a director, participating in the Corleone Film Festival is about much more than entering a piece into a competition: it means answering a call to artistic and cultural action.

It means stepping into the history of a place that cinema has often stereotyped, but this time, standing on the right side of it. Presenting your work here offers the opportunity to:

Participate in a visual revolution: Use the camera as a tool for regeneration, transforming the screen from a mirror of old clichés into a laboratory for fresh, authentic narratives.

Gain amplified visibility: The high symbolic value of the festival draws the attention of national and international media, critics, and institutions. Your film will not just be screened; it will become the centerpiece of a profound cultural debate.

Find new creative inspiration in the region: Immerse yourself in a land of extraordinary natural beauty, powerful contrasts, and deep human resilience. Through the experiences and tours organized by the festival, you will discover authentic stories, faces, and atmospheres capable of inspiring your future cinematic projects.
